My menu is the best because...
It is balanced on the essential nutrients our body needs ( below). Also, I researched all the key information from health professionals, such as, Harvard University. I made sure that when choosing my menu items to think what ingredients are in these items, if they had ingredients that I didn't know I would forget about adding it to menu, such as, autolyzed yeast.
Fruits- From reviewing my survey I can infer that students would rather have a side of fruits rather than a side of vegetables.------>
For this problem I will probably cut out or limit the amount of vegetables served except for in the salads. |
<------ I believe that we should serve a healthy, but tasty, grain for students to buy. <------ Most days of the week we should include a protein of some sort to add to the nutrition of the lunches. For the percent of students that are vegetarian, the school should provide a non-meat option for example, pasta. |
The guidelines for my menu will be to:
|
Since lunch is the middle meal of the day, your body doesn't need all of the nutrients of the food plate. |
Vitamins- How they effect our body.
Microwaves:
Since some of my meal choices (which will be found below) have to be microwaved, our school should use fundraiser money to buy more microwaves in order to save cafeteria workers time.
My final menu looks like this...
My Menu
My Menu has a variety of nutritious options for everyone in the school.

Proteins are sources of energy. When we work out. (i.e. lift weights) we tear our muscles. In order to make them bigger, we have to eat proteins to repair them. I picked these because a lot of students enjoy the burgers at school. Others, complained that it was gross. I decided to replace the current burgers with these sliders. |
